LANDLORD BOB’S

DISTRICT III CLASS AA PRESEASON TOP 25 TEAM RANKINGS

1. Brandywine Heights – The bullets return five state qualifiers including two medalists. They have the best giddy up in the lightweights in the district (class AA). The Bullets have stumbled in the past when given LLB’s coveted #1 position. They are much like USC Football in that they stumble within their own division in years past. I just don’t think Hamburg or Schuylkill have the horses to run with them.
Next Up: Bullet Invitational December 1st

2. Bermudian Springs – A very consistent team that fields huge numbers year in and year out. They are always able to produce top flight newcomers each season. The York will be interesting and several teams will be on the Eagle’s heals.
Next Up: Boiling Springs December 3rd

3. Boiling Springs – This team has talent all spread out over the line-up. They have a great start, middle of the road in the middle (No pun intended), and a workable upper weight section. Like Bermudian they’ve thrived on top flight youth, to stay at the top they have to keep that up. They will be the kings of the Mid Penn small schools this season.
Next Up: Susquenita December 1st

4. Delone Catholic – They have some questions in their light heavyweights and sometimes you wonder who will be walking through the door year to year - not exactly a bad thing. They seem like a wrestler or two away this year from competing with Bermudian but should have some favorable matches with Littlestown and Biglerville.
Next Up: York Tech December 6th

5. Biglerville – I had the Canners in the mix from positions 3-5 since the summer. I told folks in my commentary last year that while the Canners had issues at the time Bob Gano had them turned in the right direction. Their Junior High had Bermudian’s Junior High (One of the better Junior High programs in the state) on the ropes last year before dropping the final bout and the match. This team has depth and impact youth. They added a key transfer in the off season and look strong top to bottom. The questions remain – Who will show up from 125-135? How banged up are they coming into the season? For those reasons I’m not sure if they can stay with Bermudian and I’m not sure if they’ve separated themselves from Delone and Littlestown.
Next Up: @ Eastern York December 6th

6. Schuylkill Valley – This is a team who could play darkhorse all year. They return 9 starters with at least 20 wins. They need to fill out the other 5 slots with quality personnel but if anybody can get at the Bullets it will be the Panthers.
Next Up: @ Top Hat Tournament November 30th

7. Hamburg – Another Berks team who could really make a push. The Hawks lost some key names off of last year’s roster. However they have the talent to contend in the Berks and make some serious noise.
Next Up: @ Boyertown Duals December 1st

8. Juniata – The returning numbers aren’t as big as normal years. However the each one of the tribe’s returners has a winning record and they are known for impact stars. Look for the tribe to get the automatic out of the TriValley.
Next Up: @ Newport December 6th

9. Littlestown- Coach Bowersox has built the Bolts into a scary team through the years. They should have a tough middle and a brutal group of light heavyweights. Their issues are in the lightweights and last two weight classes. Their supporting cast is decent in the lightweights but they will need some more impact guys to contend.
Next Up: @ York Suburban December 6th

10. Susquenita – You saw shades of the Blackhawks turning the corner last season. If not for a fabulous Bubbler team Susquenita would be a serious threat to win the MPC. They find out if their on that level real quick.
Next Up: @ Boiling Springs December 1st

11. Pequea Valley – With the door open in the L-L, the Braves should sneak in and contend with Donegal for small school honors.
Next Up: @ Haverford Township December 1st

12. Camp Hill – The Lions are building a decent program out of the MPC.
Next Up: @ Lancaster Catholic Duals December 1st

13. Donegal – The neighborhood tough guy in the L-L gets a few more small school challengers this year.
Next Up: @ Bullet Invitational December 1st

14. Hanover – The Hawks look to take a step back this year.
Next Up: @ Northeastern December 5th

15. Newport – Actually a step up for the Buffs and a rebirth for the program. Early on will tell us a lot.
Next Up: James Buchanan December 1st

16. Upper Dauphin – A new head coach takes over the Trojans and fields a team that will flirt with qualifying for the post season all year.
Next Up: @ Halifax December 6th
